Leslie Brownstein has been a practicing ASHA certified Speech and language Pathologist for over 40 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, and home care. She has a private practice for over 30 years and has been doing early intervention for 25 years.

She has  extensive experience with infants through geriatrics with multifaceted challenges, delays and disabilities such as accent modification, articulation and phonological disorders (sound errors e.g. lisp, r, s, l) motor speech disorders, (e.g. childhood apraxia of speech) stuttering/ fluency, voice disorders, tongue thrust, language delay, receptive and expressive language difficulties, and a great deal of experience with autism spectrum disorders.

Leslie earned her Bachelors in Science from Emerson College & her Masters Degree with a University Fellowship from Hofstra University. Leslie is prompt trained, and uses prompt and oral-motor therapy in a child centered and play based therapeutic environment to insure  the development of the child's maximum communication potential.

Leslie holds a certificate of clinical competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and a New York State License and is certified as a teacher of the speech and hearing handicapped (TSHH). Leslie is also a certified life coach.

With these coaching tools and techniques, Leslie empowers parents, children and adults to gain confidence, so that they successfully make the changes they want for themselves & their children. All these elements facilitate the child's success and progress so that his/her maximum communication potential can be realized.
